Friday-Pearl City: Have not "blogged" much from go-kart races this summer, but looking back now, wish I would have. Here is a little from this Friday: Guess I was 2nd in 3 heats and 3rd in another. Sounds good, but only 3-4 kart races. Should have won at least won. Was gaining back on leader in the last "straight-rail/box stock" class ("ride" I got late Friday...show up and race!). Not even that good in feats either. Started 5th and gained on frontrunners in "straight-rail/box stock" class, but got into wall on front straight before mid-race. Lost some ground and guy that got in front of me got out of shape coming out of 4. Made contact, but things ended up setting in. Fished 4th in that. Should have ran at least there in "Pro" class. Had passed slower kart late, but think I gave it back to him right at the line! (Wish they posted results on website). Ran about 100 laps though I guess. Better than lifting weights in basement. Had forgot air pressure gauge! Had me messed up. Got out there later than wanted, barely got set up in time for hot laps. Got pressures the same on both karts. Hard to do "double-duty" as is, especially on own. Not sure which one should have concentrated on. Had a few good races.
...Can't get it out of my head to continue this "racing weekend" tonight. Normally, I actually try to take it easy the day before a midget race, but with today being the final 2009 point race for the Hornet division at Rockford Speedway, I am tempted to campaign our JJ Precision Grinding/North State Motors/Natrona Labs Cavalier Special. I led the first half of a heat race a month ago (before running out of gas) and feel that I have some unfinished business. I am not even sure if I am going to stick around and go for a top 10 feature finish or not, but we will see how the schedule goes! Looks like this is another "solo-mission", so if you read this in time, imagine I could use some help. Thank-you.
